Boredom doesn’t exist in the Maggia valley!

Over 200 miles of hiker trails, the Maggia river with its clear blue waters is a real adventure for everyone: We have our own recreation area within footsteps of the hotel.

Here at the Maggia valley you will find ideal conditions for divers, climbers,
Canyoning and mountain bikers.

Near the hotel there are two floodlighted tennis courts, a special fitness trail in the forest and a landing strip for paragliding freaks.

Only 5 mins. from the hotel, there are plenty of swimming possibilities in the river Maggia. Enjoy the sun laying on a big rock and cool down in the lazy river, that’s invigorating!

Our hiking recommendation (approx. 3½ hrs)

From the hotel Villa d’Epoca walk in the direction of the river and cross the river Maggia.
The suspension bridge will guide you to a path at the village Aurgeno. Walk in the direction of Dunzio and on the way to the TV tower you’ll see many little chapels. After 1 hour you will arrive in Dunzio with its typical Rusticos (houses made of stones).

Over a little hill you will reach (after approx. ½ hrs) the ‚Bettola Montana‘ of Rosy. Ideal  for a little rest with a glass of Merlot and some local cheese or as well as a Risotto from Ticino or a Polenta with a side dish.

In the shadow of the forest, we climb down to the chapel St. Anna and from there you’ll have an amazing view over the lake Maggiore, Locarno and the Centovalli with its quaint villages.

From here we walk down to the ‘via Tegna’ (it’s a road) to Ponte Brolla, where you can catch a bus which will bring you back home to the hotel.

The professional walkers can walk from Ponte Brolla along the river Maggia to Avegno, Gordevio till Ronchini.
